Final Steel Beam Lifted at 4 World Trade Center

Gospel singer BeBe Winans sang God Bless America and more than 100 workers signed the final steel beam that was lifted into place at the new World Trade Center skyscraper, the first expected to be open for business since the twin towers were decimated on 9/11. Workers raised their hardhats in tribute as the mammoth beam rose slowly into the Manhattan sky at the ceremony Monday to mark the completion of the structure at 4 World Trade Center.

New Yorkers Pay Kindness Forward Annually Since 9/11

Jeff Parness, like many New Yorkers, was changed by the terrorist attacks on 9/11. He lost a good friend when the Twin Towers fell, but also was deeply moved by the support the city received from across the nation following the attack. In 2004, he established New York Says Thank You, a nonprofit that sends volunteers from NYC, particularly the city's beloved firefighters, to help rebuild other disaster-stricken communities in the U.S. every September.

Osama Bin Laden Is Dead; President Tells Nation 'Justice Has Been Done'

Osama bin Laden, the leader of the al-Qaida terrorist network that killed 3,000 people in the Sept. 11, 2001 terrorist attacks on the United States, is dead. President Obama announced to the nation late Sunday night, that bin Laden was killed in Pakistan over the weekend after a firefight in an operation that was based on U.S. intelligence.
