Victoria Police Officer Buys Plane Ticket to Reunite Senior with Family
A British Columbia police officer bought a plane ticket with his credit card for a disoriented senior so that she could be reunited with her family.
Who doesn't appreciate a pat on the back, now and then? In that spirit, the Denver Police Department launched an initiative aimed at acknowledging people and rewarding them with pizza gift cards for their courteous actions, for helping others and for obeying the law.
On July 29, patrol officers downtown began giving out 500 vouchers that say, "You Got Caught Doing Something Right."
The cards were given out to people who were using trash bins rather than littering, obeying walk signals at traffic lights and walking their bikes in busy pedestrian malls.
