Thanks to a surfing dog named Ricochet, a sick boy was able to feel like a normal kid again. Caleb lost the feeling in his lower body last July just weeks after he was diagnosed with stage 4 brain cancer. The certified therapy dog famous for her surfing skills, joined the Make-A-Wish Foundation to fulfill Caleb Acosta's request for a day in the waves with the four-legged star. "It was life-changing," Caleb's mom, Cathy Acosta, told Good Morning America.

1,500 Employees Skip Holiday Party to Transform Local Farm

In place of a holiday party, computer technology company NVIDIA conducted one of Silicon Valley's largest-ever employee volunteer events, with 1,500 employees and community members gathering to bolster a local farm's ability to continue providing students and families with access to fresh local produce. NVIDIA's annual holiday initiative called Project Inspire began on December 9 and in two days transformed Full Circle Farm's operations, building structures to enable it to become financially self-sustaining and to expand its ability to provide nutrition education to students and families in Silicon Valley.

Hilton Hotels Sharing Excess Food With Hungry Egyptians and Americans

Hilton Hotels has launched a program to collect safe, surplus food from conferences and daily restaurant operations that would otherwise be thrown away, and providing it to those in need. A multi-year partnership with two hunger organizations began a month ago to ensure that hotel food, instead of being wasted, is distributed to local food banks, soup kitchens, and school programs in Egypt and the US.

GM CEO Auctions Off 1958 Corvette to Help Habitat for Humanity

Just 510 Chevy Corvettes painted in the the Royal Turquoise hue were manufactured in 1958 and it was Dan Akerson's childhood dream to own one. Today Akerson is the Chairman and CEO of General Motors -- which owns Chevrolet, still the maker of the Corvette. On Friday the CEO placed his beloved mint 1958 turquoise convertible on the auction block so he could give all the proceeds to Detroit's Habitat for Humanity.

Royal Wedding Fund Raises $1.7 Million for Charity

Plenty of people this spring wanted to send a wedding gift to Prince William and Kate Middleton, even after the couple asked that donations be made to one of 26 chosen charities instead. More than $1.7 million (over a million pounds) was raised for the occasion for the Royal Wedding Charitable Gift Fund, according to Buckingham Palace.
