Mr. and Mrs. Vansledright were ready to meet each other at the altar for their wedding earlier this month – unfortunately, the catering company was not so ready.
Since the company thought that the wedding was a week later than its actual date, they had no food prepared for the event.
In tears, the bride and groom went to the restaurant next door and begged them for help.
Nick Ruesticus, who is the owner of the Sonder eatery in Hudsonville, Michigan, said that there was no way he could turn down the desperate couple.
He and his staff proceeded to close down the restaurant for the day so they could go above and beyond for the wedding feast.
In just 90 minutes, the restaurant put together a cocktail hour and wedding food for 150 people. They even made sure there were vegetarian and vegan options in addition to a choice between beef and chicken.
Needless to say, the Vansledrights were in awe of Sonder's kindness. They were able to get their money back from the original caterer, but they say that they don't know what they would have done if the compassionate staff had not stepped up to help.
