New Diplomacy Dawns in Cuba as U.S. Embassy Reopens After 54 Years
54 years ago three US Marines lowered the flag in Havana as the US ended relations with Cuba. The same men raised the flag again Friday at the reopened US embassy.
Atop a 17-story building in Manhattan lies a hidden sanctuary of sorts – a green space about the size of five football fields to harbor wildlife, save energy, and divert storm runoff.
What was once the biggest bird-killer in the city was transformed into a lush habitat–transparent glass into inviting greenery.
Susan Elbin, head of the New York City Audubon Society, visited the landmark with a CBS news crew, saying, "I feel like I am in a meadow somewhere."
