Wake Up London is becoming well-known for organizing meditation flash mobs in Central London every month. The group of young practitioners follow Thich Nhat Hanh, the renowned Zen master, author, and human rights activist.

In celebration of the Vietnamese teacher's return to London this week, hundreds will gather for a "Sit in Peace" meditation on the open grounds of Trafalgar Square on Saturday March 31.

In the belief that being mindful and silent can create peace for all humanity, the Buddhist monk will guide the sitting meditation beginning at 2:30pm, offering his calming vibrations at no charge to all who join his remembrance of peace "within us and around us".

Benches and steps in the Square will also be available. They kindly ask for there not to be any display of banners or signs, nor giving out of flyers during the event.

Check out the rest of Thich Nhat Hanh's 2012 tour in the UK, which includes a public talk at Royal Festival Hall and a 5-day retreat at Nottingham University, at www.mindfulnessretreats.org.
