The Boston Globe has just continued the tradition of looking out for fellow journalists in times of tragedy.
Following the bombing at an Ariana Grande concert in Manchester on Saturday, the staff of the Manchester Evening News has been working round the clock to report the events as they unfold.
The gesture comes as a heartwarming callback to when then Chicago Tribune sent pizzas over to their journalistic neighbors in Massachusetts after the Boston bombings in 2013.
The Illinois-based outlet probably articulated it best with the note that they enclosed with the pies: "We can only imagine what an exhausting and heartbreaking week it's been for you and your city. But do know [that] your newsroom colleagues here in Chicago and across the country stand in awe of your tenacious coverage. You make us all proud as journalists. We can't buy you lost sleep, so at least let us pick up lunch."
