Man Serenades Wife's Return to Airport with 'What a Wonderful World'
A retired musician serenaded his wife of 33 years with his trumpet, as she entered the airport, returning from overseas after her father was stricken ill.

A retired musician serenaded his wife of 33 years, as she entered the baggage claim area in the Austin airport, home from a two-week trip abroad.

He played the classic Louis Armstrong tune that had become their theme song over 33 years of marriage, "What a Wonderful World."

Ed Zamora said his wife Melody told him she hadn't heard the song at all while overseas, despite the couple always hearing the number whenever they traveled. So Ed showed up with flowers in one hand and his trumpet in the other.

The moment was especially poignant because Melody's father had taken ill and they would be headed straight for his bedside. The song had been her mother's favorite until she died 15 years ago.

When his wife stepped foot on the escalator, Ed took a deep breath and serenaded her all the way down by playing the most well known bars of the verse.
