So when it was his 72nd birthday yesterday, Jimmy Teng gave away 1,000 free ice cream servings to the people of Kallang, Singapore.
Affectionately called "Uncle Jimmy" by the locals, Teng has made a tradition out of giving away ice cream on his birthday. This is the third year in a row that he has handed out sweet treats on his special day – and he doesn't plan on stopping anytime soon, even if it may cost him a few hundred dollars.
"I'm so happy," he told The New Paper in Mandarin. "I wouldn't be this happy if I won the lottery!"
