Generous Lottery Winner Donates Ticket to Charity
Somewhere in Kansas a Powerball lottery player shines as a hero for sending their winning ticket anonymously by mail to a local hospital.
Mayor Cory Booker has earned about $1 million in public speaking fees over his seven years in office, the majority of which he has given to charity, according to a report on the website of the New York Times.
He told the newspaper he spoke mainly to educational institutions and nonprofit organizations and would sometimes make five-figure donations the same day he was receiving payment for speaking engagements.
Booker is paid about $135,000 a year in salary as a public servant.
