84-year-old Dolores "Dolly" Jefferson was getting a cup of coffee, when she heard a "commotion" in her Illinois backyard. When she looked outside she saw a one-hundred-pound coyote nose to nose with her neighbor's small dog, Roxie

84-year-old Dolores "Dolly" Jefferson was getting a cup of coffee, when she heard a "commotion" in her backyard, the Illinois Daily Herald reported. When she looked outside she saw a one-hundred-pound coyote nose to nose with her neighbor's small dog, Roxie. Soon there were five coyotes in the yard.

With the wild animals poised to pounce, the octogenarian sprung into action.

"I ran outside screaming as loud as I could and shooed the coyotes away."
