A 'hail mary' pass from professional basketball arenas to the Oklahoma tornado victims has resulted in four million-dollar donations, beginning with Kevin Durant, a player with the Oklahoma City Thunder, who donated $1 million to Red Cross relief efforts through his foundation.

A ‘hail mary' pass from professional basketball to the Oklahoma tornado victims has resulted in four million-dollar donations, beginning with Kevin Durant, a player with the Oklahoma City Thunder, who donated $1 million to Red Cross relief efforts through his foundation yesterday.

The OKC team gave a million and the National Basketball Association and National Basketball Players Association each pledged $1 million apiece.

Thunder team sponsors also sent money to support relief efforts — Chesapeake Energy (with $1 million) and Devon Energy (with $2.5 million).
