A woman whose $23-million lottery ticket was gathering dust inside a glove compartment finally realized she might have been a winner and claimed it five months later -- just before the deadline came and while she was in financial straits.

A woman whose $23-million lottery ticket was gathering dust inside a glove compartment finally realized she might have been a winner and claimed it five months later — just before the deadline came.

Julie Cervera told reporters at a news conference Friday that she was in financial straits when she found the ticket. Now, she plans to use the winnings to help her family.
