This compassionate YouTube star gave huge tips to restaurant servers in North Carolina, reminding them that "good things still happen to good people."
This YouTube star uses his position of internet fame to give thousands of dollars to unsuspecting strangers—and this video is just another example of how he wants to show the world that "good things still happen to good people."
Back in October, an online vlogger known as MrBeast was featured on dozens of news outlets for a video stunt in which he filmed himself leaving multi-thousand dollar tips to waiters and waitresses across Greenville, North Carolina.
To kick off the video, Jimmy Donaldson, aka MrBeast, and his friend start visiting restaurants so they can order two glasses of water in exchange for bigger and bigger tips.
Initially, the guys are leaving $10 and $20 tips—but as they continue visiting the restaurants, they start to leave $100 and $1,000 tips for each server.
At the end of the video, they record the reaction of a waitress at one hot dog restaurant receiving a $10,000 tip.
The owner of the Sup Dogs restaurant, Bret Oliverio, told WRAL that the YouTube star had simply wanted to inspire random strangers.
"He said he wants everyone to know that good things still happen to good people," Oliverio told the news outlet. "He wanted to make someone's day."
The best part of the story might also be that the waitress only kept $800 of the gratuity so she could split the rest with her coworkers.
