Denise Mueller-Korenek has just broken the record for fastest human being on a bike - a record that was previously held by a man.

Riding a custom-made bike, Mueller-Korenek broke the record on the Bonneville Salt Flats in Utah going 183.9 miles per hour.

The 45-year-old's bike was attached to the back of a drag racing car that was being piloted by professional female racing driver Shea Holbrook until she reached 100 miles per hour.

Upon detaching from the car, Mueller-Korenek started pedaling - and each rotation of the pedals propelled her forward by 128 feet.

This is not the first time that the mother-of-three has been on a rocky bicycle ride. She retired from being a champion in competitive cycling so she could start a family and create her own home security company.

Her recent stunt broke her previous record for fastest female on a bike which she set at 147 miles per hour in 2016.

The record for fastest human on a bike has been broken 10 different times - all by men - over the course of the last century. The last titleholder was Dutch cyclist Fred Rompelber, who hit 167 miles per hour in 1995.

According to The Telegraph, Mueller-Korenek celebrated her achievement by demounting her cycle and yelling "Beat that, Fred!"

The record is yet to be confirmed by Guinness World Records, although it seems that Mueller-Korenek was happy enough to complete "the ride of her life," saying "Now I know how Evel Knievel felt."
