When the people who run their Grand Rapids, Michigan shelter found out the two were getting married, they sprang into action, leveraging their ministry's resources to give them a "fairy tale" wedding.

Mel Trotter Ministries found a gown for the bride and tux for the groom at its thrift shop. It lined up people to do hair and make-up for the bride and a wedding official performed the ceremony for free.

"It was a blessing. I didn't expect this at all," Mani told WXMI News. "We just wanted to do it casual with a few friends and family, and they came to me and made this happen, the dress, makeup, hair and everything, and it meant a lot."
