Stranger Helps Woman Down on Her Luck - Gets Repaid Years Later
After Chris Wright helped a woman on the side of the road in 2014, he never expected to see her again.
When baby Eliora Schneider was born, her family was all but certain they were going to lose her.
Her mom, Robin, went into early labor, and the little girl was born a preemie at just 21 weeks and 6 days.
"We thought this was it, you know. We were going to lose our sweetie," Robin recalled to KSHB, holding back tears.
But Eliora, who goes by "Ellie," survived the birth. At the time, she weighed just 14 oz. (barely heavier than a 12-oz. can of Coke) and was only a bit over 10 inches in length.
Ellie spent just two days longer in the womb than the earliest premature baby who has ever survived childbirth, but five months after her miraculous birth, doctors are calling her progress "remarkable."
Robin, who has a GoFundMe page to help pay for Ellie's medical costs, says, "The fact that she's alive and has as few complications as she does is a miracle."
