When a four-year-old girl decided she wanted to be a police officer for Halloween, her mother ran into a shopping roadblock: all of the cop costumes were designed for little boys.
This brought to light an offense that officers from around the country were quick to address.
After Chelsy Goertler put out an all-points bulletin about her daughter Kinley's frustration, female police officers from nearly every U.S. state responded with calls of "girl cops are awesome" and "girl cops rule!"
Kinley Goertler has also received support from cops in five other countries and is amassing an impressive collection of police patches, which officers are still sending her.
"It just feels amazing," Kinley's mom, Chelsy Goertler, told KGW News. "I can't even describe how wonderful it is for all these people to love Kinley and just support what she's doing."
