Then, someone broke into his house and stole all his specialized tools and knives, but it was the start of a good news story after his friend told a local TV news reporter.

48 year-old Nathan Romo was all set to start culinary classes as the first fully blind student enrolled in the Fresno, California school.

He had a good knife set, a talking thermometer, measuring spoons in Braille and a Macbook computer that connects to a scanner that can read books to him.

Then, someone broke into his house and stole everything, but it was the start of a good news story after his friend told a local TV news reporter.

Among other local donations, including hundreds of dollars and an iPad, a chef surprised him with a magnificent gift.
