A heroic 10-year-old jumped into action to help save three kids after their school bus crashed into a lake.
A 10-year-old boy is being hailed as a hero after helping kindergartners off of a school bus that crashed in a lake outside Tampa, Florida.
Nicholas "Nico" Sierra, a newly-appointed school safety patrol officer, was on the bus when its brakes failed Thursday. The driver tried stopping, but the bus left the road and landed on its side in the lake.

As the driver began trying to transport 27 kids out the rear emergency door, Nico immediately waded in to help. He pulled one of his friends out from under the water, told to put her arms around his neck, and carried her to shore.
Then, he went back to help bring two more kids safely to land.
Ultimately, all of the children made it out of the bus.

Nico's parents weren't surprised to hear about their son's heroic act.
"Nico's a very brave kid and he always helps everyone around him," Nico's mother told People.
