Rio Slums Transformed Into Canvas Bursting With Color
Two Dutch artists are transforming a shanty town clinging to the hillside in Rio de Janeiro using buckets of bright neon colored paint. With the help of local youths in the Santa Marta slum, stacks of huts on several streets are now a kaleidoscope of color. As of yesterday, the project has gone global, raising $112,000 through an online fundraising campaign with the goal of painting the entire community.
