New Law Guarantees All Military Working Dogs Retirement on U.S. Soil
A defense bill signed into law two weeks ago allows US military dogs to return to the US after their retirement–and offers their handlers a benefit, too.
Given a free shopping spree for her 99th birthday, this woman filled her cart not for herself, but with stocking stuffers for needy kids.
Donna Goldstein is a weekly fixture at the California 99-cent store in Beverly Grove, where the staff knows and appreciates her kind heart.

They noticed her buying items for Thanksgiving charity baskets last month, and gave her a beautiful gift for her birthday–a chance to fill her cart with anything she wants at no charge.
Goldstein filled up a cart with $163 worth of items — a huge haul when nothing in the store costs more than a dollar. She's taking the load to her church where the items will be boxed up for needy kids this Christmas.
She says she already knows it will be appreciated.
"I'm going to cry I'm so happy," Goldstein told KTLA News.
